Water Main Replacements in Leawood and the 2026 Water Quality Report

Posted on July 15, 2026
The six water main replacements listed below are scheduled for construction this summer in the Leawood subdivision.
The construction contract was awarded to Diaz Construction. Diaz began mobilization on July 13, 2026. Crews began street milling on S. Marshall Dr. and S. Lamar Dr. today. Pipe installation is scheduled to begin July 20, 2026.
The district intends to keep the community informed about the projects to help minimize disruptions and ensure everyone is prepared for any temporary inconveniences during construction. The anticipated working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. Affected residents will receive written notification from the contractor closer to the start date of construction.
District staff, its consultant, and its construction contractor will work closely with the residents and regulatory agencies to minimize disruptions to traffic and the environment. Water service may be interrupted when the new water mains are connected to the existing mains, however, this will be limited to a few hours at a time. Residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance before service is interrupted. Emergency shutoffs may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. If requested, the district can supply bottled drinking water to impacted customers during scheduled outages.
If you have further questions concerning this project, need additional information, or would like to request bottled drinking water during scheduled outages, please contact the district office at 303-979-2333 or info@plattecanyonwsd.gov.

Denver Water’s 2026 Water Quality Report shows that your drinking water is safe and meets requirements set by the EPA and state health department.
The report also contains important information about the source and quality of your drinking water, including data from the dozens of sites monitored across their collection system.
